Who We Are

Sandra Morgan founder, president “While living in Athens, Greece in 2001, I saw a fourteen year old (at most) with sandy-blonde hair sitting in the entry of a side street brothel under the watchful eye of the house madam, I had to do something. I began asking questions, learning the hows and whys and why nots. I read everything I could find, looking for answers, keys to solutions that would free this girl and many like her. When I became a volunteer at a shelter I found answers that were not in the books and papers. I found ordinary girls with ordinary hopes and dreams, struggling to make sense of a world where they were bought and sold like the daily newspaper. It was there that my eyes were opened to the expansive and growing modern-day slavery issues we are facing globally. I learned that human trafficking was a global crisis affecting people all over the world even back home in California. It became clear to me that a broader goal was needed with an international reach and Live2free was officially born.” Sandra Morgan 2009 Contact: smorgan@live2free.org |
